DWX Series: State-of-the-art that improves audio quality
To offer complete audio solutions, Sony combines advanced digital technologies, the world’s best analog microphone experience, wireless audio transmission technologies and a reputation for exceptional stability. Incorporating state-of-the-art digital technologies, the
DWX Series is set to revolutionize live stage performance, with almost the same impact that the music recording industry was revolutionized when Sony applied advanced digital technologies to recorders, mixing consoles.
and signal processing equipment. The DWX Series delivers outstanding sound quality, offers convenience through multi-channel operation and an innovative, uncompromising workflow.
WiDIF ™ -HP: Sony’s original wireless interface
A new high-profile digital audio interface format over UHF has been developed for the DWX series: WiDIF-HP.Highest quality wireless transmission
WiDIF-HP transmits high quality 24-bit / 48 kHz digital audio signals in real time, with a wide dynamic range of more than 106 dB, a wide frequency response from 20 Hz to 22 kHz and a low system latency of 3 , 4 ms *. It also lacks a compander, a device frequently used in traditional analog wireless systems that can compromise audio quality.
More flexibility with multi-channel operation
WiDIF-HP enables large-scale multi-channel operation. Thanks to a digital modulator, WiDIF-HP obtains an assignment of channels characterized by the same spacing and free of intermodulation, which allows to significantly increase the number of digital wireless systems in operation simultaneously compared to current analog wireless systems.
For example, if a TV channel with a 6 MHz bandwidth is used in the United States, up to 12 channels in simultaneous operation are supported. WiDIF-HP supports simultaneous operation of 50% more systems than current analog wireless systems.
This format also allows you to use the WL-800 series analog wireless channel profiles already in use. In this configuration, the DWX system performs its functions in conjunction with WL-800 analog wireless systems ensuring maximum reliability, without the risk of interference between the analog or digital system.
