Many questions about digital education are still waiting for empirically sound answers: How robert croyle  widely are digital learning technologies and how are they used? Together with the mmb Institute for Media and Competence Research, the Bertelsmann jeremy croyle  Foundation launched the “Monitor Digital Education” to clarify these questions.  the different forms of digital learning in schools, training, universities jeremy croyle  and further education. The focus is clearly on the state or publicly funded jeremy croyle  institutions.

For the first time, the “Monitor Digital Education” offers a broad and comparable empirical database covering all areas of digital learning and thus also the possibility of cross-sectoral and comparative discussions. Both the number of video call consultations and the number of telemonitoring transactions in the first 2 quarters of 2021 are well above the quarterly average of 2020. This is apparent from the Digital Care Factsheet (pdf) that the Digital Care program of the NVZ publishes 3 times a year. The use of digital care fell slightly in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the previous quarter.

The share of video call consultations is lower in Q2 than in Q1.

Inquiries with hospitals show that there may be a ‘catch-up effect’ of physical care in video call consultations. Patients who were unable or unwilling to make a physical appointment as a result of the corona crisis probably returned to the hospital for a consultation in the second quarter. The figures also show that video calling is of all ages: 11% of the patients are 70 years or older.
To learn from each other

In addition to the Factsheet, the NVZ also offers its members insight into the use of digital care with a Digital Care Monitor. This monitor was already available from mid-July for all hospitals affiliated with the NVZ on the basis of anonymous data: names of hospitals were not visible. As of October 28, 2021, that will change to a monitor-by-name.

Only participating hospitals can view per hospital which share of digital care is used, per specialism, diagnosis group and age group. This information is intended to learn from and inspire each other. For example, which hospital already has experience with telemonitoring within a specific specialism? The monitor answers this.
